According to the CRCBR website, the CRCBR Deal Makers Awards Program recognizes brokers and developers in the commercial real estate industry who have accumulated sales transaction volume over $2 million in 2013. Brokers are recognized in the categories of office, industrial, retail, land, and investment. Developers will be recognized in the categories of office, industrial, and retail.

The event will be held at The Westin Charlotte.  Registration and networking will begin at 11:30 am, and the awards luncheon will begin promptly at 12:00 pm.  Parking will be available at The Westin.

KARNES to Attend the ULI Carolinas Regional Meeting on Jan. 23

ULI LogoAndrew Jenkins, managing partner, will be representing KARNES at the 2014 ULI (Urban Land Institute) Carolinas Regional Meeting being held on January 23, 2014. Mr. Jenkins is also participating as a member of the Market Impact Council.

According to the Charlotte ULI website, this two-day event, which brings together members of ULI Charlotte, ULI South Carolina and ULI Triangle for the first time, will showcase regional opportunities and best practices in land use. The event will provide an opportunity to meet the Carolinas’ top decision-makers and industry experts from every sector of real estate and land use. This event will be held at the Westin Charlotte, located at 601 S. College Street.

About the Market Impact Council
This council will explore the opportunities created in our communities by large employers (such as corporations, universities and medical centers) and major market transactions. Discussion will center around economic development impacts that result from these employers and how developers can leverage the demand for supporting industries, housing and commercial real estate. The council will also investigate incentive programs and infrastructure requirements that are necessary to support the growth of these entities.

One of the many integrated features of the KARNES CPE system is the Property Traffic Analysis function. Many users may not be aware of this powerful feature.

While users are working hard to market properties, the Traffic Analysis feature provides useful insight into property traffic data for All or a specified Property by defined time frame, where/how the property was viewed and who viewed the property.

Beyond providing property traffic details, the Property Traffic Analysis function allows the creation of a PDF report that can be emailed or printed and can also be easily customized by adding company logos and headers.  Beyond personal insight, this report creates a excellent branded marketing piece to provide to clients to illustrate listing activity, or to use during organizational meetings.


Powerful Traffic Analysis Filters

To access the Property Traffic Analysis function, simply login to your account and click on Traffic Analysis under the Home/MyProperties tab.  From here you can filter our results with a variety of options including: Date Range, View TypeView Source and Select Property.  The Traffic Summary Graph displays total number of views by day/date based on selected filter, while the Traffic Summary Chart displays the Name, Company and Number of Views of the Top Viewers.  The Activity Chart displays the Date Viewed, Property Viewed, CPE #, Source Type, Source Name (if a member), Source Company (if a member), and View Type.

Lincoln Harris Plans New Ballantyne In University City

Johnny Harris mentioned that Charlotte needed a new Ballantyne at the CRCBR’s Annual Meeting and it appears he is ready to make it happen. At least on a smaller scale.

University Investors, a company managed by Lincoln Harris, recently purchased the 24-acre parcel at 239 West Mallard Creek Church Road and Tryon Street for $3.5 million from Bank of America.

In 2005, Landmark Development Partners proposed 326,000 square feet of retail space for the site called University Crossing. Bank of America acquired the site in during the fourth quarter of 2008 and had the land zoned for up to 1 million square feet of space.

Lincoln Harris is seeking to capitalize on the site’s proximity to the future Blue Line Extension stop at JW Clay and terminal stop at UNCC and create a dynamic project that could spur the next Ballantyne in Charlotte.

Mr. Harris provided the audience with a fireside chat, conducted by the Charlotte Business Journal’s Will Boye, covering a range of topics including his involvement in the development of commercial real estate in Ballantyne, SouthPark, and Uptown Charlotte.

The keynote by Mr. Harris was preceded by a lively roundtable discussion involving the winners of the 2013 CRCBR® Deal Makers Awards, an annual awards program officially audited by KARNES. Deal MakersWith over 245 attendees at The Westin Charlotte, CRCBR’s 2013 Deal Makers Awards Program was a huge success. As the official auditing firm, KARNES was honored to be a part of this annual awards program, which recognizes the Charlotte region’s top performing brokers and developers in the commercial real estate industry. Congratulations to all of the 2013 winners!

Here are a few interesting statistics based on applications for the CRCBR 2013 Deal Makers Awards Program:

  • 130 applicants, the most since 2007
  • Each applicant averaged $42.9 million per transaction and 29 transactions last year
  • 20% of the applicants accounted for 68% of the transactions
  • Applicants represented more than $5.6 billion in transactions during 2012.
